Agriculture

Current challenges in agriculture are directly related to Farm Sustainability. Growth rate in agriculture is reducing. Global agriculture growth rate were 2.2% on year-to-year basis for last 30 years. As per the projections of Food And Agriculture Organization of United Nations, the growth rate for next 30 years will be around 1.5%.

Considering the advancements in agricultural sciences in last four decades, the growth rate projections should have increased. It shows that there is some wrong within the system.

IEC promotes Innovative Organic Agriculture (IOA). IOA maximises the Bio-available Nutrition (BAN). Requirement of Bio-available Nutrition is approximately 10% of the crude nutrition. Through BAN, IOA reduces load on soil ecology and promotes ecological balance.

Waste Management

Current Socio-Economic conditions have made huge changes in consumer consumption pattern, which has also changed the waste generation quantities and waste composition. Developing nations generate 250 grams of waste per capita per day, whereas developed nations generate 2000 grams or more per capita per day.

Basically, the basic contents of original material & waste are almost same. The difference is the usability. If the resource recovery from waste is achieved, lot of natural resources can be saved.
